Earlier this year it was announced that the agreement between Transnet and Philippines based International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) would be put on hold due to a court dispute that APM Terminals filed to challenge the deal.

This deal would be a first in South Africa where Transnet welcomed a private port terminal operator, which was also a desperately needed move.
